As you step back in time, your guide will set the scene for the visit, including details about the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD that took the lives of its citizens. Your guide will take you along Pompeii’s main thoroughfare, and everyday life before the eruption comes into focus. Stops at a bakery, a fast-food counter, and an early marketplace reveal how residents bought food, ran businesses, and moved through the city on a daily basis. In addition the public spaces, you'll also peek into private life at Pompeii. Visit to the House of the Tragic Poet featuring the famous Cave Canem mosaic and discover details about domestic design and social status. Throughout the route, your guide also points out recently reopened areas and ongoing excavations as new discoveries about the ancient city are made every year.

- Taking the train from Rome to Pompeii is fairly easy. Departure station: "Roma Termini", Arrival station: "Napoli Centrale". The fastest train, "Frecciarossa" takes about one hour to Naples. Tickets can be booked at trenitalia.com. When you arrive at Napoli Centrale, transfer to the "Napoli-Sorrento Circumvesuviana" line. Trains depart every 30 minutes to Pompeii. Tickets for this train can only be purchased once you arrive at Napoli Centrale. Exit the train at the "Pompei Scavi - Villa Dei Misteri" stop to meet our tour.
- All guests (including children) must bring a government-issued ID/passport on the day of their tour. Failure to bring an ID may result in security staff denying entrance to the monument.
