Considered as one of the most prestigious opera houses in the world, the Theatre was built between 1776 and 1778, under the government of Mary Therese of Austria. Centre of civil life during the Medieval age, this relatively small square is surrounded by outstanding buildings such as the Palazzo della Ragione, formerly Broletto Nuovo, seat of the city government between 1251 to 1786.

Built in the 15th century by the Sforzas, dukes of Milan, is one of the symbols of the city. Artists like Leonardo da Vinci and Donato Bramante have given their contribution to the magnificent interiors. Nowadays, the Castle has been turned into a space for art exhibitions.
